Regular CDJR maintenance ensures your vehicle always performs at its best. Your Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep or RAM contain numerous systems which work together to provide a comfortable and enjoyable driving experience. These systems all contain components that will eventually wear out, and replacing them when necessary prevents minor issues from becoming major problems. These are some types of maintenance we provide for your car, truck or SUV.

Radiator Flushing

The radiator acts as a heat exchanger, removing heat from the engine and replacing it with cooler outside air. Coolant is pumped through the engine and absorbs heat, then transports the heat to the radiator. The coolant needs to be changed every 30,000 to 100,000 miles, depending on your Dodge model and the type of coolant it uses.

Older coolant becomes less effective at removing heat, causing your engine temperature to rise. It also becomes corrosive and can damage the cooling system and other vulnerable engine components. We flush the radiator by draining the old coolant and adding a mixture of coolant and a conditioner to the cooling system. Once this mixture has removed any trace of the old coolant, we drain it and refill your engine with fresh coolant.

Spark Plug Replacement

Spark plugs play a vital role in the engine, as they ignite the fuel-air mixture in the cylinders. A spark plug screws into each cylinder, and it ignites the fuel-air mixture at a precisely timed point to produce combustion. Spark plugs were out over time and can also become damaged by worn ignition coils, electrical faults, or a fuel-rich engine.

Worn spark plugs can’t ignite the fuel-air mixture correctly, and you’ll experience misfiring or stalling. This lowers engine performance and will damage the cylinders and pistons if it continues. Our technicians will check your plugs and replace any damaged ones we find to fix this issue.

Brake Fluid Replacement

Brake fluid provides the hydraulic power that forces the braking system to engage. Like other vehicle fluids, it becomes less effective as it ages, and you’ll notice a drop in brake performance. This is dangerous, as slow-reacting brakes can result in an accident. Older fluid also becomes susceptible to overheating, and if this happens, you’ll smell a foul chemical odor when you hit the brakes.

Overheated brake fluid can boil and the hot fluid won’t provide hydraulic power. This is extremely dangerous, as your brakes could fail. If you smell a burning chemical smell, pull over as soon as it’s safe to do so and contact our service department. We’ll drain the old fluid and replace it, and your braking system will work effectively again.
